Income Tax department raided properties of filmmaker Anurag Kashyap and actress Taapsee Pannu on Wednesday.
The raid was conducted by IT department at various locations across Mumbai and Pune.
Both of them have been vocally critical of the India’s Central Government. They tweeted in favor of the protesting farmers.
Anurag Kashyap was against the Citizenship Amendment Act in 2019 and he also supported actress Rhea Chakraborty in the Sushant Singh Rajput case and also criticized Bollywood celebs for not supporting one of them.
The Central Government has been criticized by the Opposition parties for the Income Tax searches at over 30 premises of production and event companies linked to film directors Anurag Kashyap, actress Taapsee Pannu and some others like Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl, and Madhu Mantena for allegation of tax evasion.
