AstraZeneca Vaccine recommended by WHO for People Over 65

It was announced on Wednesday by World Health Organization (WHO) that AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine which is Oxford co-produced can be administered to people over the age of 65 as well as settings where variants have spread.

This was announced by WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization (SAGE).

Earlier it was believed that the AstraZeneca vaccines were less effective against mutant coronavirus first detected in South Africa but SAGE has found that the jab, in fact, is effective against the South African variant.
