On Friday high speed 4G internet services have been restored in the entire Jammu and Kashmir almost after two years.
This information was shared on twitter by J&K administration, principal secretary, Rohit Kansal.
In August 2019 4G internet services were snapped to prevent a backlash against Indian government’s move in which it revoked Jammu and Kashmir State’s special status by abrogating Article 370 and splitting the State into two Union Territories — J&K and Ladakh.
Although 2G services were restored in several places after some time, high-speed services were not restored.
According to the Indian government the reason to restrict high-speed internet in J&K was because of separatists and Pakistan-based terrorism.
High-Speed internet was restored earlier on a trial basis n Ganderbal and Udhampur for post-paid sim card cardholders on 16th August 2020.
