Stay at home order lifted in Ontario except for Toronto, Peel, York, and North Bay

Stay at home order to curb the spread of COVID-19 lifted in 27 Ontario’s 34 public health units today.

The units return to the province’s COVID-19 colour-coded tiered ranking system used prior to a province wide lockdown which began on 26th December 2020.

According to Ontario Premier Doug Ford said the move to the tiered ranking system first used last year was a “transition” and did not constitute reopening.

The Niagara Region will be in grey-lockdown zone which only allows select retail businesses to open at 25% capacity.

The rest of Ontario outside GTA moves from the Red zone to the Green zone. These areas will have lighter restrictions on businesses and gatherings at each stage.

Toronto, Peel Region, York Region, and North Bay Parry Sound will remain under the stay-at-home order at least till 22nd February 2021.
