Two large formations of warplanes was dispatched by China very close to island of Taiwan which is a self-governing state during the weekend. This action by China is seen as a challenge to new United States President Joe Biden.
According to Defense Ministry of Taiwan 13 Chinese planes entered the southwestern Taiwan’s air defense identification zone (ADIZ) on Saturday and 15 planes on Sunday which prompted them to take to take defensive measures. He also mentioned 380 flights was made by Chinese warplane in Taiwan’s air defense identification zone last year.
The frequency of such drills has been increased by China in recent years, the latest incident is seen as message to Joe Biden’s new administrations.
China claims full sovereignty over Taiwan which is a 24 million people’s democracy which is located at the southeastern coast of China.
The President of China Xi Jinping has vowed that China will not allow Taiwan to become independent and he will use force if necessary.
