U.S. Capitol breached by Trump supporters had violent clashes with police on Wednesday.
The protesters were urged by Donald Trump to come to Washington to protest the formal approval of president-elect Joe Biden’s win in the general election by Congress.
Despite there being no evidence of fraud or wrongdoing in the election many Republican lawmakers have backed protest.
Hundreds of pro-Trump protesters clashed with police and forced themselves inside the U.S. Capitol after 1pm.
Smoke grenades were used were used by the police on the Senate side of the Capitol. Windows on the west side of the Capitol broken.
Senate floor was closed from the rioters by about 3:30 pm.
