Addressing a large gathering after the ‘pran pratistha’ rituals at the grand Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi stated, “Our Ram has finally arrived.”
“I stand before you, witnessing the divine presence in the tabernacle’s sanctum sanctorum. There is so much to express, but a lump in my throat hinders my words. After countless sacrifices, offerings, and penance, our Lord Ram has manifested. I congratulate the nation on this auspicious occasion,” the Prime Minister expressed.
Ram Lalla, he announced, will “no longer dwell under a roof.” Describing this moment of sanctification as a blessing from Lord Ram, he emphasized that January 22 is “not just a date on the calendar but the dawn of a new era.”
Drawing parallels between the sanctification ceremony and breaking free from a mindset of servitude, he remarked that it is a blessing to be alive to witness this historic event. “In the years to come, people will look back on this date and remember it. It’s by the supreme blessings of Ram that we are here,” he added. The Prime Minister also sought forgiveness from the deity, acknowledging that there might have been lapses leading to the delay in reaching this point.
Highlighting that “Ram’s existence was questioned,” Modi pointed out that in India’s Constitution, Lord Ram is mentioned in its preamble. He expressed gratitude to the Supreme Court for upholding the principles of justice.
Addressing concerns raised by some about the construction of the Ram Temple igniting conflict, the Prime Minister said, “Those who doubted failed to understand the purity of India’s cultural heritage. The construction of this temple of Ram Lalla symbolizes the peace, tolerance, and collective harmony of Indian society. Instead of sparking a conflict, it has generated positive energy.”
“Ram is not a source of discord; he is an energy. Ram is not a problem; he is a solution. Ram does not belong to a select few; he belongs to everyone,” the Prime Minister affirmed. He concluded by outlining a vision for the country’s future development, stating, “Ram’s temple has been built. Now what? Every citizen’s understanding should extend from devotion to God to dedication to the country, and from Ram to the nation.”
