According to Yemen’s Houthi militia they launched a new attack on Tuesday at the King Khalid Airbase in Khamis Mushait city in Saudi Arabia.
Houthi military spokesman Yehya Sarea said in a statement that ‘The attack hit the target accurately’.
However, according to the Saudi-led coalition forces they have intercepted and destroyed an explosive-laden drone fired by the Houthi militia from Yemen towards Kamis Mushait.
The Iran-backed Yemeni Houthi militia has been targeting Saudi cities and oil facilities almost every day.
Many of the cross-border drones were intercepted and ballistic missile attacks are intercepted and destroyed by Saudi-led coalition forces.
Civil war broke in Yemen after late 2014 when the Iran-backed Houthis seized control of several northern Yemeni provinces.
Houthis also forced the internationally-recognized government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi out of the capital Sanaa.
The Saudi-led Arab coalition is supporting Hadi’s government in the Yemeni conflict since 2015.
