Bollywood Director Madhur Bhandarkar on Friday documented a grievance in Indian Motion Pictures Producers’ Association (IMPPA) against Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions for using his title ‘Bollywood Wives’ for his Netflix show.
“We wish to Inform you that we are having the affirmed title ‘Bollywood Wives’ for include film/web arrangement/short film.
We have come to know that your Dharma Productions is utilizing a comparative title with a slogan ‘The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives’ unlawfully and with no approval.
The utilization of the comparative title is an infringement of the rights of the original holder,” Bhandarkar sent a letter to IMPPA alongside the Guild and Netflix.
IMPPA made a prompt move and kept in touch with Guild, to which they reacted that they have not enrolled the said title for Dharma Productions.
Subsequently, IMPPA then sent a letter to Dharma Productions to present their answer on the issue quickly and change the title with prompt impact. The letter is additionally sent to Netflix.
