In a briefing today Tuesday 26th Jan Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau asked all Canadian to avoid all non-essential travel within the country as well as traveling abroad.
The PM said people can expect more travel restrictions very soon.
At the moment US and Canada border remain closed for travelers and other international traveler coming to the country must have Covid-19 negative report 72 hours before their departure flight and must quarantine for 14 days after arrival.
Anyone found violating these rules can be charged under the Quarantine Act with maximum 6 months of jail sentence or could be fined for C$ 75000.
