Indian Government ready to hold Farm Law for 1.5 years

The Government of India is ready to freeze the 3 controversial farm laws for one-and-half years. The government will file an affidavit in Supreme Court conveying this decision.

This was reported by Indian farmers who attended the 10th round of negotiations with the government.

The Indian farmer unions who are protesting against the farm law said they would consider the proposal.

According to the Farmer Union government is nervous because they have plans to hold a tractor rally on 26th January when India celebrates its Republic Day.

The Farmers also said on the 10th round of meeting government placed a new proposal to set up a special committee that will consider all their demands related to the new farm laws.

Until the new committee completes its review will hold the farm bill for 1.5 years.

Supreme Court already put the laws on hold for 2 months and set a special committee to negotiate the matters however the farmers did not accept the special committee as according to farmers all 4 members of the special committee are pro-government. One of the members from the special committee already stepped down.

According to farmers they are expecting 1,000 tractors to take part in the rally on 26th January.

The Tractor rally on 26th January will be an embarrassment for Indian Government.

The next meeting between farmers and government is said to be held on 22nd January.
