Tensions between Israel and Palestinian in the Gaza Strip have continued unabated for a 7th consecutive day, as the death toll climbs to 181.
According to a statement given on Sunday by Hamas who also runs Health Ministry in Gaza, since the escalation began on 10th May 181 Palestinians have been killed that includes 52 children and 31 women and 1,225 others got injured.
As per Israel’s Army after 10th May more than 2,300 rockets have been fired by Hamas. Israel responded to it with airstrikes and artillery shelling and hitting more than 650 targets.
According to Israel, 10 people got killed and 636 injured Israel as a result of the rocket fire by Hamas.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has called for an immediate end to the ongoing fighting between the Palestinians and Israelis in the Gaza Strip which is even worse than in 2014.
The UN Secretary said, “Fighting must stop. It must stop immediately. Rockets and mortars on one side and aerial and artillery bombardments on the other must stop. I appeal to all parties to heed this call.”
“I am appalled by the increasingly large numbers of Palestinian civilian casualties, including many women and children, from Israeli strikes in Gaza. I also deplore Israeli fatalities from rockets launched from Gaza.”
