Crocodile attacks man in UP village

A crocodile attacked a young man in the Lakhimpur Kheri district of Uttar Pradesh.

A man named Rahat Ali, 32 had gone to Bansinagar village to attend a wedding, he went out to relieve himself near a canal, and he was attacked by a crocodile who tried to drag him away.

Ali cried for help, some villagers working in a nearby field rushed to the spot and managed to rescue him. Ali told his rescuers that the crocodile suddenly emerged and attacked him from behind. After the attack, the crocodile disappeared in the Canal.

The area is located near the Dudhwa National Park.

Ali was taken to a community health centre, where his condition is now said to be stable.

The Forest department team rushed to the spot but could not find the crocodile.

According to Gulshan a local from the area, the crocodile menace in the village had been reported numerous times but no action had been taken by the authorities.

Most of the time people move in groups and the villagers take special care of children. As Ali was not from the village, so he was not aware of the crocodile presence in the area.
