Covid-19 deaths in India cross 3-lakh mark

India becomes the 3rd country in the world to cross the 3 lakh mark of the death toll due to the coronavirus (Covid-19) infections after the US and Brazil on Monday.

After 4,454 new deaths due to Covid-19, India on Monday the total number of deaths crossed 3-lakh mark in India.

2,22,315 new Covid-19 cases were reported in India on Monday and according to the Union Health and Family Welfare Ministry, this is the lowest number of cases reported since 21st April.

Total number of Covid-19 cases in India now stands at 2,67,52,447 this includes 27,20,716 active cases and 3,03,720 deaths until now. 2,37,28,011 people already recovered from Covid-19 in the country.

50,000 Covid-19 deaths were reported in India in the last 12 days.

According to the Health Ministry of India, a total of 19,60,51,962 people have been vaccinated so far in India that includes 9,42,722 who were administered vaccines in the last 24 hours in the country.

India reported 4,529 Covid-19 deaths on Wednesday; this is the highest number of death reported in a single day due to Covid-19 by any country since the coronavirus outbreak was reported in Wuhan in China in December 2019.

Prior to this highest number of death reported in a single day due to Covid-19 was reported in 4,468 deaths in the US on January 12 and 4,211 deaths in Brazil on April 6.

The US, Brazil, and India are the worst-hit countries by the Covid-19 pandemic.

India is behind the US and Brazil with the highest deaths due to Covid-19.

The Covid-19 cases in India came down below the 3 lakh mark for the first time on 17th May after touching a record high of 4,14,188 on 7th May as India is battling a brutal second wave for weeks.
