Clash at Nanded Gurudwara, 3 policemen injured

About 3 policemen got injured after clashes near the famous Huzur Sahib Gurudwara in Nanded (Maharashtra) during Hola Mohalla celebrations late on Monday.
As per Maharashtra police, a section of Sikhs wanted to celebrate by enacting Holla Mohalla (Halla Bol) tradition with a procession.
The permission for the procession was not given by the Nanded police due to Covid-19 restrictions and only granted permission for the function to be held inside the Gurudwara premises.
But later in the evening some angry Sikh youths allegedly stormed the Gurudwara gates and trooped outside flashing their swords as well as shouting slogans clashed with the police.
At least 3 policemen got injured during the clash and several vehicles parked nearby were damaged including one belonging to a DSP.
The district police bought reinforcements to quell the aggressive mob and finally the situation was brought under control.
The police described the situation as under control and peaceful but tense.
A team of Maharashtra Police is visiting Nanded to review the situation.
According to a police officer, the process of registering an offense against many accused is underway at the moment.
All the policemen injured are said to be in stable condition.
