Calgary Transit has announced snow diversions in anticipation of significant snowfall on January 17. Commuters may need to use alternative stops on Wednesday as part of the city’s strategy to minimize vehicle obstructions and maintain smooth transportation flow during adverse weather conditions.
While these diversions aim to prevent vehicles from getting stuck, it might require some commuters to walk a bit farther to reach their destination. Calgary Transit assures the consideration of such factors before implementing snow diversions.
A snowfall warning is in place for areas south and west of Calgary, projecting substantial snowfall ranging from 15 to 35 centimeters Tuesday night through Wednesday. Although within the city limits, Calgarians can expect lower snow amounts.
“We’ll monitor the weather conditions throughout Wednesday and assess whether snow diversions will continue during the evening rush hour,” stated Stephen Tauro, acting director of Calgary Transit.
