Nominating the India-US ties one of the most defining hookups, several top Biden administration officers praised External Affairs Minister (EAM) S Jaishankar’s commitment to this bond, calling him the” mastermind” of ultramodern US-India relations.
These accolades came during a special event hosted by India’s Ambassador to the US, Taranjit Singh Sandhu, in honour of EAM S Jaishankar.
The event was attended by notable numbers from the Biden administration, including US Surgeon General Vivek Murthy, Deputy Secretary of State Richard Verma, President Biden’s domestic policy counsel Neera Tanden, Director of the White House Office of National Drug Control Policy Dr Rahul Gupta, and Director of the National Science FoundationDr. Sethuraman Panchanathan.
Mr Jaishankar was on a visit to the US from September 22 to September 30 during which he addressed the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York. In Washington, Mr Jaishankar met several top US officers including National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan, US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, Ambassador Katherine Tai and US Defence Secretary Lloyd Austin.
Stager diplomat Richard Verma emphasised the part of hard- working Indian Americans who have erected the US-India ties and said, “It’s one of the most consequential connections of this century. Do we’ve dissensions ? You go. Will we’ve bumps in the road? Of course. But two close musketeers aligned with these participated values, clicked together by the great ideas of Mahatma Gandhi, and Martin Luther King. This is a cooperation with staying power, with real impact, and that will continue to have an outside influence in the world.”
The former envoy also praised Mr Jaishankar as the mastermind behind the ultramodern US-India relationship and transuded confidence that US- India strategic ties have enhanced under his watch.
“I’ve also known (Jaishankar) for a long time over numerous capacities, and who I can also say, he’s the mastermind of ultramodern US- India relations. We’d not be in the strong place that we’re moment, but for the external affairs minister, your leadership,” Mr Verma said in his public address.
At the “Colors of fellowship” event in Washington DC, Mr Jaishankar addressed members of the Indian community, emphasizing the significance of people-to-people connections in erecting stronger bilateral ties.
