Vaccines with pork gelatin ok UAE’s Islamic body

Islamic authority of The United Arab Emirates Fatwa Council approves Covid-19 vaccines for Muslims even if they contain pork gelatin.

There could be a problem as pork gelatin is a common ingredient in Covid-19 vaccines will not be accepted by Muslims as the consumption of pork products is forbidden (haram) in Islam.

However according to Council Chairman Sheikh Abdallah bin Bayyah if there are no alternatives the coronavirus vaccines is ok even if it contains pork gelatin because it is  important to “protect the human body”

According to Fatwa Council pork gelatin is not considered food but it is considered effective medicine.
