The US has completed a alternate round of arbitrary lottery selection for the important sought-after H-1B work visa for foreign guest workers and the successful aspirants have been notified, according to a civil agency.
The H-1B visa is anon-immigrant visa that allows US companies to employ foreign workers in thing occupations that bear theoretical or specialized moxie.
Technology companies depend on it to hire knockouts of thousands of workers each time from countries like India and China.
“We now have aimlessly named, from the remaining FY 2024 enrollments duly submitted, a sufficient number of enrollments projected as demanded to reach the cap,” US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) said on Tuesday.
All the successful aspirants eligible for the H- 1B visas for the financial time beginning October 1, have been notified about it, it said.
USCIS had to conduct an unknown alternate round of the H-1B lottery, which is held in the first week of April, substantially because of a large number of unqualified operations that were successful in the first H-1B lottery.
“The large number of eligible enrollments for heirs with multiple eligible enrollments much larger than in former times has raised serious enterprises that some may have tried to gain an illegal advantage by working together to submit multiple enrollments on behalf of the same devisee,” USCIS said.
“This may have unfairly increased their chances of selection. We remain married to inhibiting and precluding abuse of the enrollment process, and to icing only those who follow the law are eligible to file an H-1B cap solicitation,” it said.
The civil agency said the H-1B electronic enrollment process, enforced in 2020 beginning with the financial 2021 H-1B cap, has dramatically streamlined processing by reducing paperwork and data exchange and provides overall cost savings to soliciting employers.
