In a brief statement, the Russian defence ministry admitted that one of its Su-34 fighter bombers had” accidentally discharged aircraft artillery” at 22:15 original time on Thursday, as per the BBC.

Regional governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said two women were taken to sanitarium for treatment.” Thank God no one was killed,” he said on social media.

Metro reported that the governor also declared a state of exigency following the explosion.

In a communication on Telegram, he verified that there was a large crater in the middle of the megacity, and that four buses and four apartment structures had been damaged by the blast, the outlet further said in the report.
