Uber in talks with Aurora to sell its autonomous car division

Uber is reportedly in talks with startup competitor Aurora Innovation to sell its autonomous vehicle division, TechCrunch reported. Uber Advanced Technologies Group (UberATG) was valued at $7.25 billion on last July, but has been facing problems.

According to Uber’s most recent earnings report, the segment saw a net loss of $303 million for the nine months ended September 30th.

UberATG was involved in a trade secrets lawsuit with competitor Waymo, owned by Google parent company Alphabet. Uber settled the case unexpectedly in February of 2018.
