Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh and husband of Queen Elizabeth II was admitted to King Edward VII Hospital in London as a precautionary measure according to Buckingham Palace said Wednesday.
The 99 years old prince was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure after prince felt unwell on advice of His Royal Highness’s Doctor.
As per the statements the prince will remain in hospital for a few days of observation and rest.
Both the prince and queen 94 are maintaining social distancing rules at Windsor Castle because of Covid-19 risk due to their age.
The Royal couple received their first vaccination doses in January.
Prince Philip’s hospitalisation is of great concern as he will be celebrating his 100th birthday in June this year.
In 2017 Prince Philip retired from public duties at the age of 96 due to health issues as he was hospitalised for 2 days due to infection.
He emerged unscathed after his vehicle had and accidents in January 2019 near the monarch’s Sandringham estate in eastern England. However two people were injured in that accident.
Prince Philip has not been seen in public since December 2019 after he was admitted to King Edward Hospital due to pre-existing condition and was later discharged on Christmas Eve.
