Pakistani minor sent back home after straying into India

The Indian authorities sent an 8-year-old boy from Pakistan who mistakenly ended up on the Indian side, back home to Pakistan.

This shows that hopes of renewed peace between arch-rivals India and Pakistan have started to show their positive effects on the ground as both countries showing intent towards normalization of ties through small but positive thoughtful actions.

The boy named Kareem Dino who is a resident of the Chachro area in Tharparkar in Sindh Province, by mistake crossed the border and was taken into custody by the Indian border security forces (BSF) on 3rd April.

When Pakistani Rangers were informed about the matter, they contacted the BSF and the boy was reunited with his family who live near the border area.

The villagers and Dino’s family also confirmed the boy’s return and expressing their happiness.

This positive gesture from India came with the exchange of letters and compliments between Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistan counterpart Imran Khan. Both expressed their desire to build a cordial relationship between the two countries.

Imran Khan replied to Narendra Modi’s letter with similar gestures and in his letter, Imran highlighted the need for a dialogue based on positive intent and a progressive approach to see a resolution of the disputed issues between the two nations.

The 2003 ceasefire between the two countries was restored on 25th February.

Pakistan Army chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also gave the statement, ‘to bury the past and move forward.
