The Bihar Assembly poll results has made chief minister priest Nitish Kumar in a sticky situation: Janata Dal United has fallen strongly and there are murmurs whether he should return as boss priest regardless of whether the NDA holds its lead and returns to power.
Till late night, the JDU was driving in only 42 of the 115 seats it had challenged, somewhere near around 30 seats from its 2015 count. Nitish’s gathering was in third situation in Bihar and had become the lesser accomplice of the BJP.
BJP Scheduled Caste cell president Ajit Kumar Chaudhary said party laborers were requesting a BJP boss pastor. “The poll command is for the BJP. Its seats are more than the JDU’s. There is a solid inclination among our partners that someone from our own gathering should become boss clergyman,” Chaudhary said.
Nitish went through the day closeted in his 1 Aney Marg home. At night, vice president serve Sushil Kumar Modi and MP Bhupender Yadav of the BJP approached him. Sources said Union home priest Amit Shah had addressed Nitish.
The question doing the rounds is whether Nitish will acknowledge turning into the main priest again if the NDA wins or choose to step aside.
“The very inquiry if Nitish Kumar will be the main priest is immaterial. The BJP has just reported him as the boss pastoral applicant of the NDA,” JDU Bihar unit boss and Rajya Sabha part Bashistha Narain Singh said.
JDU state chief president Ashok Choudhary brought up that the NDA had battled the political race with Nitish as the helm.
“Nitish’s face is of expectation, trust, unwavering quality, wellbeing, harmony and genuineness. The polls were battled under his administration. Whatever situates the NDA gets will be for making him the central pastor,” Ashok said.
Bihar BJP president Sanjay Jaiswal stated: “When our chiefs like Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home priest Amit Shah and gathering president J.P. Nadda have reported Nitish as our next boss pastor, there is no doubt of veering off from it.”
