More than 78 Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan

According to Afghanistan’s Ministry of Defence on Thursday, at least 78 Taliban militants were killed in numerous operations conducted by Afghan government forces in the past 24 hours.

The Ministry of Defence announced, “44 Taliban militants were also wounded and eight others were arrested as a result of Afghan National Defense and Security Forces (ANDSF) operations in Ghazni, Zabul, Herat, Paktika, Balkh, Nimroz, Helmand and Kandahar provinces.

Afghan National Defense and Security Forces discovered and seized weapons and defused 36 IEDs (improvised explosive devices) and many landmines during the cited period.

There have been no comments from the Taliban.

The Ministry of Defence did not mention any casualty on the side of the Afghan security forces.
