A 31-year-old man was arrested for allegedly assaulting and attempting to run over a Pakistani expatriate with a car near the Hand Bridge area in northeast Delhi, as reported by the police. Mohammad Dilshad Ansari was apprehended from New Usmanpur on Thursday.
In January, two individuals were charged with assaulting and running over a Pakistani expatriate with a car in the same Hand Bridge area.
The accused attacked a man identified as Ram Chand, a 34-year-old Pakistani Hindu, over a dispute about water glasses that they had requested from him, according to an officer. Additionally, the two individuals attempted to run him over with their car, he added.
A video of the incident surfaced on social media.
The police stated that Ansari admitted to driving the car during the incident. The other person in the car was identified as his cousin, Majhar, who resides in Dayalpur, a locality in the city. The family is involved in the business of broken glass in Jagjit Nagar.
Police have formed teams to apprehend Majhar.
