India vs South Africa, 2nd Test – “Miyan Magic”: Internet Erupts As Mohammed Siraj Makes SA Shiver In Cape Town Test

As the Proteas won the toss and chose to bat, Mohammed Siraj emerged as the chief disruptor for India. Siraj made early breakthroughs, taking four wickets within the first 10 overs, leaving South Africa in a precarious position on Day 1 of the ongoing second Test in Cape Town. India, having lost the first Test by an innings and 32 runs in Centurion last week, sought a strong start in the series. Siraj dismissed Aiden Markram (2), Dean Elgar (4), and Tony de Zorzi (2) in his initial spell.

On social media, fans praised Siraj for his exceptional bowling performance, particularly after facing criticism during the Boxing Day Test. Siraj continued his impressive form by later dismissing Kyle Verrynne and Marco Jansen, completing his third five-wicket haul in Test cricket.

South Africa made three changes to their lineup, introducing new cap Tristan Stubbs at number four in place of Keegan Petersen. Left-arm spinner Keshav Maharaj and fast bowler Lungi Ngidi replaced the injured Temba Bavuma and Gerald Coetzee, respectively.

India brought in the fit-again Ravindra Jadeja, replacing fellow spin bowler Ravichandran Ashwin, while seam bowler Mukesh Kumar took the place of Shardul Thakur.

South African captain Dean Elgar, playing in his final Test match, acknowledged the challenge after losing the first Test but emphasized the importance of starting well. Indian captain Rohit Sharma expressed optimism about their chances, stating that they were eager to make an impact after winning the first Test.
