Government of Canada invests $666K to enhance community infrastructure in Brampton North at Heart Lake Conservation

Community infrastructure is at the heart of local communities, bringing together residents and visitors alike, while supporting local businesses, jobs and economies.

Today, on behalf of the Honourable Filomena Tassi, Minister responsible for the Federal
Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario), Ruby Sahota, Member of Parliament for Brampton North announced an investment of $666,825 to enhance the Brampton region under the Canada Community Revitalization Fund (CCRF) at Heartlake Conservation Park, alongside John MacKenzie, Chief Executive Officer, TRCA and Mike Stiell, Marketing Director, TreeTop Trekking With this investment, recipients will enhance community infrastructure to support local economic growth and quality of life for residents and visitors of Brampton North.

This support will improve park amenities at Heart Lake Conservation Park (HLCP) in Brampton North. Project activities will support upgrades to one washroom, swimming pool deck, three trail wayfinding kiosks, access roads, parking lots and add fifty new accessible picnic tables for public use. In addition, TRCA will install two culverts to promote better water flow and a new set of pedestrian access gates which will enhance outdoor & green spaces and increase the accessibility of community spaces.
