Don’t let Myths confuse your visa journey. Here are the Facts!

Myth: Appointment slots are not easily available

Fact: Appointment slots are released monthly and periodically, as
directed by the Consulate. Please check the official BLS International website

(https://www.blsindia-canada.com/) regularly for the latest availability. We do not partner with or authorize any third-party agents for appointments.

Myth: Walk-in applicants have a longer waiting period!

Fact: As we see in a walk-in clinic in Canada, similarly for BLS Centres in Canada walk-in are on first come, first-served basis. While appointments are prioritized.

Myth: Next appointment date is only after 7 days! How to book an appointment if I have an emergency?

Fact: In accordance with Consulate’s guidelines, a 7-day cooling period applies to passport umber once used. The assisted service (premium lounge) can be booked separately on availability basis which you may check with the security personnel at the door or BLS Call centre.

Myth: BLS Operations have been suspended by Ministry of External Affairs, GOI

Fact: There is no ban or disruption to our ongoing services. BLS International continues to operate as usual without any restrictions in Canada or globally. Infact, BLS has been recently awarded the new contract in October by Ministry of External Affairs, GOI to handle their large operations in China.

Myth: I should book my appointment through a third party by paying an additional fee

Fact: All appointments need to be booked through the official channels of BLS International, depending on slot availability. This helps keep the process fair and transparent for everyone.

Myth: My visa was refused because BLS International did not file my documents correctly

Fact: BLS International only accepts applications on behalf of the Embassy/ Consulate, following their instructions and guidance. BLS International has no role in the decision-making process or determining how long it takes.

Myth: What documents are required? Where is the list?

Fact: The document checklist is always available on the official BLS International website and VAC Counters. In some cases, the Embassy/ Consulate may ask for additional documents depending on your travel purpose.

Myth: Value-added services guarantee visa approval

Fact: Value- added services like photocopying, form-filling and SMS updates are provided to make your applications process easier and more comfortable and to keep you informed about your application status. They do not influence the decision on your visa, which is always made by the Embassy/ Consulate.

Myth:BLS International decides whether my visa is approved or rejected

Fact: Only the Embassy/ Consulate has the authority to approve or refuse visas. BLS International only handles the administrative aspects of the application process and does not make any decisions.

Myth: My passport has been at the embassy for more than 15 days. BLS International said it takes 15 days- why are they lying?

Fact: The 15-day timeline is the standard indicative processing time. Actual processing times may vary on a case-to-case basis and depend entirely on the Consulate.
