An unknown number of crocodiles escapes breeding farm in South Africa.

Authorities hunting for an unknown number of crocodiles escape from a breeding farm in the Western Cape Province of South Africa.

About 27 crocodiles have been recaptured but officials are still unknown how many more need to be caught.

Crocodiles escaped through a broken fence at a breeding farm near Bonnievale and made their way to the Breede River.

Authorities have asked local residents not to approach the crocodiles as they are dangerous wild animals. People have also been asked to stay clear of the river until all the crocodiles are captured.

The escaped crocodiles said to be measured 1.5m (4ft 11in) in length.

Authorities set up a special unit to track the crocodiles and they have set up bait in cages along the riverbank to capture them.
