Umesh Yadav was relatively clear when asked about India’s chances in the third Test match against Australia in Indore.
Australia need only 76 runs to complete a memorable Test palm in India but the wicked nature of the pitch has kept the home platoon leader Umesh Yadav hopeful going into day three. Fourteen lattices fell on the opening day while 16 batters got out on Thursday. The pitch is offering plenitude of turn and uneven brio has also made the batters’ job harder. Nathan Lyon ran through the Indian fur on day two to end with an eight- gate haul and put his platoon within touching distance of a rare palm in India. Umesh conceded that his platoon has not put enough runs on the board but it still has an outside chance.
“In justice anything can be. We’ll try our stylish and coliseum tight lines. It isn’t an easy gate, whether it’s our batters or theirs. It isn’t easy to step out and hit.
“The ball is keeping low as well, so you can not be sure about stepping out.
“The runs are less but we will stick to tight lines and push as important as we can,” said Umesh, who did his job with the ball on Thursday morning by furnishing three lattices.
The 35- time-old, who does not get to play regularly at home with India going with only two bellwethers, sailed his heart out in the first session to help the hosts limit Australia to 197 in their alternate innings after continuing the day at 156 for four.
Umesh sailed presto and straight with a climbed confluence and let the face do the rest. He trapped Cameron Green in frontal with a beauty that held its line after landing on middle refuse. Mitchell Starc and Todd Murphy could also do little against a charged up Umesh and saw their wholes being disassembled.
“My plan on this face was to drift straight and push for a gate or two. As a fast bowler, I’ve to hit the sundeck hard and coliseum in the right areas. I’ve played utmost of my justice in India, my mindset is always to get a wicket.” On the scramble seam, he added, “There was seam movement that is why I tried the scrambled seam, it was grooving, If it wasn’t swinging. Whatever length I sailed there was confluence movement and sinking after pitching.” With the club, Umesh couldn’t added vital runs for the platoon as he and Mohammed Siraj both decomposed while going for the big successes.

The leader said on lattices like these, it makes further sense for a tail- ender to attack than defend.
“We did not get any communication (to attack) when I went in to club. My job was to score runs on this tough gate. It’s delicate to get runs then. I feel, rather than defending and getting out ultimately, it’s better to go for shots on a gate like this. Indeed I would have scored 10- 20 runs, that would have pushed the lead to 90.
