Rifatul Islam Hridoy, the Bangladesh gang rape accuses was arrested in Bengaluru on charges of gang rape and torture of a Bangladeshi girl. Rifatul also had formed an international human trafficking network along with some criminals from south-western Bangladesh and some states in India.
The human trafficking ring is formed by the accused, also known as ‘Tiktok Hridoy Babu’ also has its network in in India as well as in UAE.
The criminal network has had contract deals with some hotels and supply girls as per their agreement.
According to the police, school and college students, as well as housewives were targeted and trafficked by the criminal network.
A case has been registered under the Human Trafficking and Pornography Control Act at Hatirjheel police station of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh.
Bangladesh policed in the process of bringing back the accused from Indian back to Bangladesh.
Rifatul has also being prosecuted in India.
Hridoy Babu, a resident of the Hatirjheel area of the capital, studied up to the 8th standard.
After that, he got involved with his friends in making TikTok videos.
A video that went viral on social media shows 3 to 4 young men and 2 girls undressing and physically and sexually abusing a young woman.
Police officials of Bangladesh and India investigated and identified the accused and the victims.
6 people, including 2 women, have already been arrested in Bengaluru. They have all been confirmed to be involved with international women trafficking rings.
The investigation is still underway and Police is in the process of arresting other members of the human trafficking ring and busting the network.
