At least 44 killed in bloody’ battles in Marib Yemen

More than 44 people got killed in a fight between the Yemeni government forces and the Houthi rebels in Marib in Yemen which is an oil-rich province.

As per the officials, “Houthi fighters carried out large-scale military operations from different directions against several sites of pro-government forces in western Marib.’

Pro-government local tribesmen also fought in an armed battle with the Houthi attackers who were using heavy weapons including artillery shelling.

27 Houthi fighters and 17 pro-government soldiers got killed in the combat, dozens got injured as well.

Saudi-led coalition using warplanes carried out a series of airstrikes and targeted military reinforcements of the Houthi group near Marib.

The Combat to happen in many Yemeni provinces and regional and international powers are making efforts to end the long-lasting conflict and achieve permanent peace solution in the impoverished Arab nation.

Yemen has been caught up in a civil war since late 2014 after the Iran-backed Houthi rebels seized control of numerous northern provinces and forced the Saudi-backed government of President Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi out of the capital Sanaa.
