“Always Taken Action”: Justin Trudeau On Indian Move Over Khalistan

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Thursday said that Canada has always taken” serious action” against terrorism, rebutting examens that his government has been lax onpro-Khalistan activists within the country.

His reflections were in response to allegations from India, which on Monday summoned the Canadian minister in New Delhi, expressing concern over raising conditioning bypro-Khalistan rudiments in Canada. This politic move by India also comes two days before a listedpro-Khalistan rally outside the Indian High Commission in Ottawa on July 8.

“They’re wrong. Canada has always taken extremely seriously violence and pitfalls of violence. We’ve always taken serious action against terrorism, and we always will,” Mr Trudeau stated at a press conference, rejecting the notion that his government is soft on Khalistan sympathizers and terrorists.

The Canadian Prime Minister’s commentary were urged by questions regarding a controversial cortege pier in the Greater Toronto Area last month. The pier, set up by Khalistan sympathizers marking the 39th anniversary of Operation Blue Star, depicted a tableau of assassinated former high minister Indira Gandhi with blood on her clothes and a bill reading,” vengeance of attack on Shri Darbar Sahib”.

Further inflaming the situation, provocative pro-Khalistan bills labelling several elderly Indian diplomats as” killers” have lately sparked wide outrage in India.

“We’ve an extremely different country and freedom of expression is commodity that we value, but we will always make sure that we’re pushing back against violence and unreasonableness in all its forms,” Mr Trudeau affirmed.

India has reportedly requested the Canadian authorities to take acceptable measures considering the planned demurrers by pro-Khalistan groups outside Indian operations in Canada on July 8.

In response to these enterprises, Canada has comforted India of the safety of its diplomats. This assurance comes after Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar called upon mate countries, including Canada, the UK and the US, to repel furnishing platforms to” revolutionist Khalistani testament,” arguing that it’s mischievous to transnational relations.

On Monday, Mr Jaishankar expressed concern over Khalistani bills in Canada targeting Indian diplomats and condemned the” radical, extreme Khalistani testament.”
