Neuralink Said to Approach US Neurosurgery Centre as Potential Human Clinical Trials Partner

Elon Musk’s brain implant company Neuralink has approached one of the biggest US neurosurgery centers as a implicit clinical trials mate as it prepares to test its bias on humans once controllers allow for it, according to six people familiar with the matter.

Neuralink has been developing brain implants since 2016 it hopes will ultimately be a cure for intractable conditions similar as palsy and blindness.

It suffered a blow in early 2022, when the US Food and Drug Administration rejected its operation to progress to mortal trials, citing major safety enterprises, Reuters reported before this month.

The company has ago been working to address the agency’s enterprises, and it’s unclear if and when it’ll be successful.

Neuralink has been talking to Barrow Neurological Institute, a Phoenix, Arizona- grounded neurological complaint treatment and exploration association, to help carry out the mortal trials, the sources said.

The addresses may not affect in a platoon-up. Neuralink has also bandied partnering with other centers, added the sources, who requested obscurity to bandy the nonpublic reflections.

Reuters couldn’t corroborate the rearmost status of the addresses. Neuralink representatives didn’t respond to requests for comment.

Francisco Ponce, director of Barrow’s Center for Neuromodulation and Neurosurgery Residency Program, declined to note on Neuralink but said Barrow was well-deposited to conduct similar implant exploration because of its long track record in the field.

The FDA declined to note on Neuralink’s sweats to find a mate for its clinical trials.
