India sends aid to quake-hit Afghanistan

The Centre has dispatched 27 tons of exigency relief backing to earthquake- hit Afghanistan, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Friday.

” In the wake of the woeful earthquake that struck Afghanistan on June 22, 2022, causing massive destruction and loss of precious lives, the Government of India, as a true first pollee, has dispatched 27 tons of exigency relief backing in two breakouts for the people of Afghanistan”, an MEA statement said.
The relief backing to Afghanistan includes essential particulars similar as family crest canopies, sleeping bags, robes, sleeping mats, etc. As per the report, the relief consignment will be handed over to the United Nations Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs( UNOCHA) and the Afghan Red Crescent Society( ARCS) in Kabul.

” As always, India stands in solidarity with the people of Afghanistan, with whom we partake centuries-old ties, and remains forcefully committed to furnishing immediate relief backing for the Afghan people”, the ministry said.
India has also stationed a specialized platoon in the Embassy of India, Kabul. Indian specialized platoon reached Kabul on Thursday.” In order to nearly cover and coordinate the sweats of colorful stakeholders for the effective delivery of philanthropic backing and in the durability of our engagement with the Afghan people, an Indian specialized platoon has reached Kabul and has been stationed in our Embassy there”, the MEA had said on Thursday.
