23-year-old son Aryan Khan the son of Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan did not get bail in the drugs-on-cruise case today from a Mumbai sessions court. The court reserved its order till Wednesday 20th October, sending Aryan back in jail.
Aryan Khan who is accused by the NCB (Narcotics Control Bureau), of “indulged in illicit drug trafficking” and was in touch with “some people abroad who appear to be a part of an International Drug Network” to obtain a “bulk quantity of hard drugs”, the NCB said in a statement to the court today.
The NCB today told the Mumbai court that “evidence showed” Aryan Khan regularly took banned substances; Additional Solicitor General Anil Singh, representing the NCB, also referred to on-record statements to say that Aryan Khan has been taking drugs for the last few years.
Aryan’s lawyer Amit Desai told the Mumbai court that Aryan Khan was “not even on the cruise” raided by NCB officers on 2nd October, so the allegation of drug trafficking against him is “absurd”, in response to the NCB’s charges.
Shah Rukh Khan’s 23 years old son was arrested along with his friend Arbaaz Merchant and 6 others after the 2nd of October mid-sea drugs raid on the Goa-bound Cordelia cruise ship off the Mumbai coast.
Aryan Khan has been in Mumbai’s Arthur Road jail since Friday.
