1 man dead in a shooting incident at Vancouver International Airport

One man was shot dead in a shooting incident at Canada’s at Vancouver International Airport.

The shooting took place at about 3 pm on Sunday near the departure area of the Vancouver International Airport.

According to Sgt. Frank Jang, from Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT), “A 28-year-old man was shot, he succumbed to his injuries. This man is known to the police. We believe this shooting is related to this ongoing gang conflict we’ve seen throughout the region lately’.

Jang further informed that an SUV with at least two more people inside departed the area.

The SUV was found about 17 miles from the scene of the shooting.

Frank Jang said Police are still looking for 1 or more suspects in this connection.

About an hour later the Vancouver International Airport’s Twitter handle said: “We can confirm the situation has been contained at YVR. The airport is open and safe. Flights are operating.”
