24 Covid-19 patients dead in Nashik Maharashtra due to oxygen leak

At least 22 Covid-19 patients on ventilator support died at the Dr. Zakir Hussain Hospital run by the BJP-controlled Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC) due to an abrupt drop in pressure due to leakage in oxygen supplies and 2 other patients died later.

This area is one of the worst Covid-19 hotspots in the state.

After visiting the tragedy-hit hospital Health Minister Rajesh Tope said that as per NMC officials and other experts there were some technical glitches while oxygen was being transferred from a tank which caused a sudden variation in the pressure of the oxygen that was administered in the Covid-19 ward that caused the death of 24 Covid-19 patients who were on ventilator beds died gasping for breath within minutes.
