About 15 Taliban militants got killed after some fighter jet struck Taliban positions and their hideouts in southern Kandahar province on Wednesday.
5 militants got injured in the sorties, which covered parts of the Panjwayi district.
The ground Afghan forces backed by the fighter aircraft will continue to strike the enemy hideouts in other places in Kandahar and its vicinity.
310 anti-vehicle and anti-personnel mines have been recovered and defused in Panjwayi and the neighboring Arghandab district of the country.
Taliban militants are active in some parts of Kandahar province with Kandahar city as its capital.
Kandahar is about 450 km south of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul.
