Boris Johnson cancels India visit due to 2nd wave of coronavirus pandemic

Boris Johnson the UK Prime Minister canceled his trip to India due to the severity of the 2nd wave of the coronavirus pandemic in India.

This was confirmed by the Downing Street spokesperson on Monday.

According to the spokesperson Boris Johnson and India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi would speak later this month to “agree and launch their ambitious plans for the future partnership.

The visit was scheduled for 26th April.

The spokesperson further said that both the Prime Ministers would meet later this year, however, he did not specify any further details.

Boris Johnson’s trip was scheduled in January this year but was canceled when the UK entered a national lockdown.
