Ri Sol-ju the wife of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un was seen in public after a year and this ended many stoked speculations about her condition.
Ri Sol-ju was seen with her husband at a musical performance for the anniversary of the birth of former leader Kim Jong Il. The birth anniversary of Kim Jong Il is known as the Day of the Shining Star in North Korea.
Kim Jong Un came to the auditorium of the theater together with his wife Ri Sol Ju was welcomed by music and all the participants burst into thunderous cheers of ‘Hurrah’. The couple was treated to songs including ‘People Are of a Single Mind’ and their photos were splashed on the front page of the country’s largest newspaper — Rodong Sinmun.
According to reports Ri Sol may have been sidelined due to the Covid-19 because of which she ended her international visits but needed to be with her husband during this important event.
According to South Korea’s spy agency Ri may have been taking care of her children and avoiding public exposure during the coronavirus pandemic.
There were speculations in North Korea that Ri may be taking care of someone ill in Kim Jong Un’s family or prepare her youngest daughter to start school.
Ri Sol-ju is a former singer who as a teenager served in a North Korean cheerleading squad.
She appeared with her husband for a summit in China where she was seen having a meal with her husband and President Xi Jinping and his wife.
Ri was also seen ridding horse through show on North Korea’s Mount Paektu which is the he symbolic seat of Kim family rule over the country.
As per reports by South Korean intelligence Ri and kim got married in 2009 and said to have 3 children but there are no official reports by North Korea.
Dennis Rodman the American basketball player once visited North Korea in 2013 said he held Kim’s baby girl in his arms and her name was Ju Ae.
