Jerusalem: 5 children, aged from 9 to 14 were among 45 victims who were killed in a stampede disaster on Thursday night at Mount Meron in northern Israel.
According to Israel’s health ministry, 42 of the 45 people killed in the tragedy have been identified so far on Saturday.
The process of identifying victims was started again on Saturday evening after the process was stopped on Friday afternoon due to religious reasons.
This incident has been described as Israel’s worst civil disaster ever.
The stampede took place during a festival celebrated on the eve of the Jewish holiday Lag BaOmer.
Due to the stampede 45 died and at least 150 got injured.
At least 100,000 people participated in the festival most of them are ultra-Orthodox Jews.
Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu declared Sunday as a national day of mourning following this disaster.
