Prithvi Shaw powers Delhi Capitals to 7 wickets win over Kolkata Knight Riders

Prithvi Shaw scored a rampaging 41-ball 82 which included 11 fours and 3 sixes helped Delhi Capitals (DC) power to a seven-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in an IPL match on Thursday at the Narendra Modi Stadium.

Chasing a target of Chasing 154/6 set by KKR, Prithvi went after the bowling right from the start as he scored 25 runs of Shivam Mavi’s 1st over.

Shaw hit 6 fours of the 6 legitimate deliveries and the over included 1 wide. It was the 3rd most expensive over in IPL history.

Prithvi Shaw reached his fifty in 18 balls while his partner Shikhar Dhawan took his time and scored 46 runs off 47 balls.

Earlier while KKR was batting Andre Russell’s 27-ball unbeaten 45 helped Kolkata reach a score of 154/6 in 20 overs.

As per Delhi Capitals (DC) opener, Prithvi Shaw his experience of playing against Shivam Mavi earlier in his career helped him get in a position to hit 6 fours in the 1st over of the innings.

Prithvi Shaw was awarded the player of the match and he said, “We have played for 4-5 years now (with Shivam Mavi).

So I knew where he will bowl to me. The first 4-5 balls he bowled were half-volleys. I was prepared for the short ball but unfortunately, he didn’t bowl”.

The final score of the match was KKR 154/6 (20) & DC 156/3 (16.3)
