Motera cricket stadium was newly made in Ahmedabad in the state of Gujrat india was inaugurated by President Ram Nath Kovind and had been renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium on Wednesday 24th February 2021.
This cricket ground was earlier known as Sardar Patel Stadium and popularly as Motera stadium. Now it has been renamed as Narendra Modi Stadium as PM Narendra Modi was a former president of the Gujarat Cricket Association.
Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju, Home Minister Amit Shah and the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah were present at the inauguration event.
Newly rebuilt Narendra Modi Stadium is the largest cricket ground in the world.
It is hosting its first international match from today which is a day and night pink ball test match between the home team India and England.
This newly built stadium is a part of the planned Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Sports Enclave in the city of Ahmedabad.
