Trump rule for H-1B visa holder’s spouses revoked

US President Joe Biden has revoked the rule set by Trump’s administration that cancelled work authorisation for H4 visa holders most of them being Indian woman spouses of H-1B work visas holders.

H-1B is a non-immigrant visa by which US companies can employ workers from other countries for jobs those jobs that requires theoretical or technical expertise.

H-4 visa is issued to immediate family members (spouses or children below 21 years of age) of H-1B visa holders. In US most of H-1B visa holders are Indian IT professionals.

Spouses of H-1B visa holders most of them Indian professionals will benefit from the new rule that gives them employment authorisation cards.

Trump administration announced in 2017 that it will rescind the Obama-error rule however they were not able to complete the process in 4 years of their rule.

It was announced by Joe Biden during elections that his administration will withdraw the Trump administration’s move once they take over the administration.
