According to national panel of vaccine experts in Canada 2nd Covid-19 vaccine dose in Canada can be delayed briefly as they plan to vaccinate more people with 1st dose faster.
According to The National Advisory Committee on Immunization they will try and maintain dosing schedules as recommended for 21 days and 28 days for the two vaccines approved.
As the pandemic grows faster vaccine supplies are slowed down so delaying the 2nd dose up to 6 weeks, instead of 3 or 4 weeks.so they could get more people immune quickly against COVID-19.
The vast majority of Canadians will be vaccinated by the fall and almost all the population by the spring and summer.
550,000 doses already received by Canada and 71% have been injected and another 380,000 doses will reach by the end of the week.
