Hundreds Gather to Support Brampton Lawyer at Campaign Launch
BRAMPTON: Ruby Sahota, Liberal candidate for MP for Brampton North, officially kicked off her campaign at her Bramalea Road office on Sunday. Cheered on by hundreds of supporters, the Brampton lawyer was enthusiastic and confident as she shared her vision for a diverse, inclusive and prosperous Canada.
“I was raised in Brampton and care deeply about its future,” said Sahota. “I am running for MP because Brampton deserves a brighter future. Years of Conservative scandals, deficits, and cuts to crucial programs like healthcare and Employment Insurance have taken a toll on our community. Stephen Harper is tearing down all that we have built here, and I can no longer stand by and let that happen.”
Fellow Liberal candidates Navdeep Bains (Mississauga-Malton), Kamal Khera (Brampton West), and Sonia Sidhu (Brampton South) were present to offer encouragement and support.
“Liberal values are Canadian values,” continued Sahota. “The Liberal Party stands for a united and inclusive Canada, one where all citizens are treated equally regardless of race, religion, or country of origin. That’s what I stand for, and that’s what I will fight for.”
Sahota, a mother of a young son, concluded by thanking her family and the community for their overwhelming support. “This campaign is going to be a marathon – not a race,” said Sahota “I ask that you continue to help me do the hard work we need to do to take back our riding and see Justin Trudeau become the next Prime Minister of Canada.”
